Family tribute after murder trial.

A family have paid tribute to the “easy-going, happy-go-lucky soul” who became the victim of what was called a “frenzied murder” in south Wales.

Wayne Royston, 35, is starting a life sentence of 20 years for killing Dean Shorney, 21, in a park in Bargoed, Rhymney Valley, in April.

Police have spoken of the difficulties they faced in bringing charges against a man who abducted a six-year-old girl from her bathtub and raped her.
